Respiratory Therapy
Trach and Vent Care

There are some health conditions that prevent the patient from breathing normally through their respiratory system.  This requires the patient to have a tracheostomy which is a surgical opening made through the neck into the trachea (windpipe).  This allows the patient direct access to the breathing tube.  Such procedure is done in an operating room while the patient is under general anesthesia.  A tracheostomy can be necessitated for a patient on a temporary basis or for longer periods of time.  Regardless the duration, proper care has to be administered by respiratory therapists and skilled nurses trained in trach and vent care.

At Domain Medical Home Health & Staffing, Inc., our therapists and skilled nurses are trained in the care and management of the tracheostomy and vent.  We exercise extreme care to help prevent infection around the tracheostomy tube.  We also have to take precautions and conduct regular maintenance of the tracheostomy to avoid clogging the tube.

Skilled Nursing

Our skilled nurses are trained in the provision of all types of patient care, and they excel in even the most demanding patient care needs, including (but not limited to):
